The authors examine both the efficiency and the equity of different methods of pricing irrigation water. After describing water pricing practices in a number of countries, they evaluate their efficiency and equity. In general they find that water use is most efficient when pricing affects the demand for water. One Water is an interchangeable term with Integrated Water Resource Management. A One Water approach seeks to integrate planning and management of water supply, wastewater and stormwater systems in a way that minimizes the impact on the environment and maximizes the contribution to social and economic vitality.
